FAQS

Frequently Asked Questions
Who photographs my wedding? How long are you there?

I personally shoot all weddings that I book. Coverage times depend on the package you purchase, but I usually begin when the bride starts her makeup, and finish after the major reception events and a good amount of dancing. A second photographer is included in most of my packages.

What kind of albums and prints do you offer?

I offer a range of albums, including two kinds of coffee-table albums (cover options include leather, acrylic, metal and fabric) and a Japanese art album. For display prints, I offer high-quality photographic prints (matted and framed, or mounted for a modern look), canvas gallery wraps, and caustic prints (wax on wood).

How far in advance are you booked?

I accept bookings no more than one year out. Dates do book up quickly, so if you are getting married during high season (April-October), it’s best to reserve your date well in advance.

What is included in my engagement session?

Engagement sessions generally involve 2.5 or 3 hours of shoot time, as well as 200+ 4x6 prints and an online gallery. I shoot engagements sessions for many non-wedding clients every year.

What is the difference between a color-corrected and retouched image?

For most photographers, there are three stages of images: The RAW file, the color corrected file, and the retouched file. The RAW file is a straight-out-of-camera file. We then color correct the file, and this color-corrected version is displayed in your proofs and online gallery. Once you decide which images you want to enlarge or include in your album, we retouch those files to ensure that they look perfect. Retouching any individual file is a time-consuming process, so it is not possible to retouch all the proofs.

Do you travel to shoot weddings?

I love shooting destination weddings and will travel anywhere in the world to shoot your ceremony.

When do I see my wedding images?

Images are usually ready within 6 weeks. We are happy to ship them to you so you don’t have to make an extra trip.

When do you deliver the digital negatives?

The digital negatives are delivered one year from your wedding date, or with delivery of your album, whichever is sooner. Since many clients move after their wedding, please call the studio to request your digital negatives.

What type of equipment do you use?

I shoot pro digital and use a variety of Canon professional equipment. The files I shoot can make images up to 30x40.

What kind of retouching do you do?

We retouch any image that is ordered as an enlargement or used in your album. We perfect color, ensure that skin looks great, and generally make each image look the best that it can. For complicated or extensive retouching, an hourly fee will apply.
